
Ángel Maldonado Fuentes was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1999. He obtained his degree in Biochemistry at Complutense University of Madrid in 2021. He joined to the group of Dr. Oscar Palomares in 2020 with a Collaboration grant from The Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (Spain) at the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. During his degree, he worked on the Final Degree Project to study the effect of cannabinoids in human dendritic cells. In 2021, he performed the master’s degree in Investigation in Immunology at Complutense University of Madrid where he carried out his final master’s project studying immunomodulation of dendritic cells with cannabinoids. In 2022 he started his PhD studies under a FPU fellowship. During his PhD, Ángel was awarded an EAACI Research Fellowship, allowing him to complete a six-month research stay at the Swiss Institute of Allergy and Asthma Research (SIAF) in Davos, Switzerland, under the supervision of Professor Cezmi A. Akdis. Currently, he continues his work in the group as a PhD student and is involved in several projects related to the investigation of the immunomodulation of epithelial cells and dendritic cells with cannabinoids.
